ART CRAWL

The second Friday of the month will feature a fun filled Art Crawl from 6 to 8pm “At the Corner of Art and Main” with lots of food and music. The monthly event  is sponsored by Historic Downtown Mooresville. Members artists are invited to set up their easels and work along Main Street. The November Walk will be 11/14/08. Depot Fine Arts Gallery is featuring a reception for the monthly exhibiting artists, friends, family and the community. Original art is displayed and available for purchase at the Depot be sure to browse our MAGical Gift Shop for one-of-a-kind gifts. Visit participating downtown businesses such as ArtWorks on Main, 202 North Main Wine Shop, “Cotton" Ketchie's Landmark Galleries, Four Corners Gallery and Framing, Ye Olde Mantel, Soirée, and The Prickly Pear, along with many others.  There is no charge for this event and everyone is most welcome.


MICHELLE CHRONISTER Michelle had 2 paintings accepted into the Piedmont Pastel Society 2nd Annual Membership Exhibition. One painting, Mandarin Preening  won 3rd Place in MAG’s Fall Show and the other, Mother’s Love won Honorable Mention in the ‘07 MAG Fall Show and also chosen for the PPS promotional

JEREMY MORGAN

Jeremy is very excited to tell fellow members that he was featured in NexGen Pulp for three issues, and said “so I thought I'd put together a short, neat downloadable e-comic.” He is working on 3 major projects and was invited to work on Night Of The Living Dead: ReAnimated, a big film project comprised of underground horror artists.


CHERI SIMMONS Cheri has been invited to exhibit a solo show at the Louise Gilbert Gallery at Mitchell Community College in Statesville for the month of November. The show is titled Plein Air Journey and the reception is 11/6 from 5—7pm. Cheri has also been accepted into juried art festivals in Waxhaw and Raleigh.

UPDATE AMERICAN WATERCOLOR SOCIETY Ellen has put together a committee to work on the American Watercolor Society. If you would like to volunteer some time to this momentous event email Ellen

American Watercolor Society traveling show May 22—June 27, 2010 will come to the Depot Fine Arts Gallery after it leaves New York City. This is one of the biggest watercolor events in the country.


FREE OPEN STUDIO FOR MEMBERS MAG has free open studio space Wednesday afternoons at the Depot from 1 - 4 pm for members. No instruction, just work in the medium of your choice in the company of other artists at no cost! Starting in January this opportunity will be open to MAG members  only.
