Ginny
Boyd |
 |
Ginny is an artist and
instructor, and has worked in many mediums. Her current media
is monoprinting with sewn collage elements. Her latest hypostasis
is based on the stereotypes of Southern women. Why are Southern
women considered simple, sweet, and “given to the vapors” when, if
fact they are complicated, tart, and as subtle as barbed wire?

Pat
McGuire |
 |
Pat is part of the McGuire
team. Both avid photographers, they agree that Pat is the more
artistic half of the duo. She enjoys a
fledgling career as wedding photographer, a passion discovered
when the daughter of a friend found herself without a photographer
less than a week before her wedding. Pressed into service at the
last minute, Pat and Wayne did their best. To their utter amazement,
the resulting album was a huge success and they found themselves
launched into a whole new world of opportunities.

Penny
Overcash |
 |
Penny's love of nature and the
complexity of the human experience keep her pushing
beyond beauty and common imagery to more spiritual and
fantastical, mythological avenues of exploration. Her
focus is to create sculpture that stirs the soul and
reminds us of how beautiful and magical the world around
us can be. The desire to have a very individual voice
through clay keeps her work evolving as does all life
around her. |

Cheri
Simmons |
|
Cheri says her days are filled
with taking care of her home, yard and gardens, helping
friends and neighbors and volunteering at MAG.
In my spare time, I paint with oils. I’ve experimented
with other mediums but my first love is oil. I love
everything about them; the smell, the feel, the movement
of the paint on the canvas. It’s a very freeing feeling
to create just for creation’s sake. Visit

Rob Steele |
|
Rob is a
self-taught artist using primarily acrylics on canvas.
He applies paints in unconventional methods rarely
involving a brush. Inspired by Jackson Pollack, he
prefers non-uniformity and wild imagination. Rob aspires
to achieve true abstract pieces where colors and shapes
bring appreciation as opposed to formal interpretation.
“To me it’s all about pure enjoyment for the eyes.” |
|
Roberta Tindall |
|
Roberta was drawn to pastels because of
the brilliant color and flexible nature of the medium.
Her works generally reflect still-life subjects with
bold, close-in design and bright use of color.
Compositions hope to portray common objects uniquely,
capturing the image in a modified “photo-realistic”
manner. Roberta is semi-retired and works as a
consultant for non-profit organizations. |

and paper and said "Paint!" So he did. |
